Our Icelandic Export Premium Insurance

Dunstan Icelandic Export contains two insurances, Dunstan Icelandic Export Premium Veterinary Care and Dunstan Icelandic Export Basic Life. This insurance aims to provide comprehensive safety measures for both you and your new horse throughout the horse stay in Iceland. It covers the entire period from your purchase and while the horse stays in Iceland, as well as during the journey, ensuring safety during the trip to your stable (or, if applicable, to quarantine facilities in the US). Our goal is to ensure a smooth and secure transition for both you and your horse during this important process.

Dunstan Icelandic Export Veterinary Care covers costs related to examination, treatment, and care performed by a veterinarian due to an accident or illness.

Dunstan Icelandic Export Life covers compensation if the horse dies, falls ill, or is injured to the extent that, according to veterinary expertise, it must be euthanized.

Our insurance plan include:

• Veterinary care costs for treatment and surgery performed by a veterinarian.
• Rehabilitation up to 880 euro.
• Veterinarian’s travel expenses up to 175 euro.
• Animal ambulance to a veterinary hospital.
• MRI/CT scans and scintigraphy.
• Dental care for certain diagnoses up 1760 euro.

Our Icelandic Export Basic Insurance

Dunstan Icelandic Export contains two insurances, Dunstan Icelandic Export Basic Veterinary Care and Dunstan Icelandic Export Basic Life. This insurance aims to provide safety measures for both you and your new horse. It covers the entire period from your purchase and while the horse stays in Iceland, as well as during the journey, ensuring safety during the trip to your stable (or, if applicable, to quarantine facilities in the US). Our goal is to ensure a smooth and secure transition for both you and your horse during this important process.

Basic Life Insurance

The insurance provides compensation if the horse dies, falls ill, or is injured to the extent that, according to veterinary expertise, it must be euthanized. 

Basic Veterinary Care Insurance

Only injuries or illnesses specified below are covered by the insurance. Injuries listed below that occur as a complication of a non-compensable injury or illness are not covered. 

• Transport sickness
• Illness or injury caused by a traffic accident.
• Traumatic fractures/fissures occurring in bone tissue that is free from signs of osteoarthritic changes. 
• Acute wound injuries caused by external trauma that require immediate veterinary care directly following the incident. 
• Acute colic and abdominal surgery.
